About
I’m Hanna Kersnouskaya, an Art Director and multidisciplinary Graphic Designer based in Lisbon.
My practice moves between art direction, visual identity, editorial design, campaigns, and print. I’m interested in building visual systems that are clear and functional, but still have a distinct point of view.
I work from concept to execution — developing visual directions, identities, campaigns, publications, and communication across digital and physical formats. Typography, composition, research, and production are central to the way I approach each project.
Based in Lisbon, I work with clients and collaborators across different industries, cultures, and formats.
What I do
- Art DirectionVisual concepts, creative direction, campaign development, and visual storytelling.
- Brand IdentityIdentity systems, visual languages, typography, and brand applications.
- Editorial & PublicationEditorial systems, publications, layouts, typography, and printed matter.
- Campaign & CommunicationCampaign visuals, social content, digital communication, and cross-platform systems.
- Print & ProductionPrint production, silkscreen, physical applications, and bringing visual concepts into tangible form.
Approach
I’m interested in the space between structure and experimentation. I usually start with research and context, then translate those findings into a visual direction — working through typography, image, composition, colour, and form. Depending on the project, I can work as a designer, art director, or creative partner, from the initial concept to final execution and production.
I value work that communicates clearly while still leaving an impression.
Practice & research
My commercial practice exists alongside an independent artistic practice focused on collage, silkscreen printing, and visual culture. Working with physical materials, repetition, texture, and analogue processes gives me a different way of thinking about images and visual systems. The two practices constantly inform each other: commercial work brings structure and constraints, while artistic work creates space for experimentation.
Research is an equally important part of this process — from visual culture and contemporary image-making to the relationship between design, communication, and society.
